Dr. Charley Rodriquez needs no introduction.  He is an aviation icon in the state of Illinois, and the nation.  In addition to his role as a college professor, Charley lends his expertise to youth, airshows, research, technologies, flight…  …  …  and of course as the coach of the aerobatic team since 2001.

Scott Marquardt was originally accepted onto the 2008 team, but was unable to compete due to the lack of an aircraft sponsorship.  He is originally from Rio, WI, and earned his wings in 2004.  He is now an Instrument rated Commercial pilot (SEL), and a Certified Flight Instructor for the SIU-C flight department.  Currently he is also earning his airframe and power plant certificate at SIU-C.

Brian Clavenna hails from the Houston, TX area, is an Instrument rated Commercial pilot (SEL, SES, MEL), and is also a Certified Flight Instructor for the SIU-C flight department.  As well as his participation on the Aerobatic Team, he is Co-Captain of the Flying Salukis, the flight team for SIU-C.

Mike Regan was also raised in the Houston, TX area, and has flown radio-controlled aircraft for many years.  He is an A & P mechanic, and has always had a strong interest in aerobatics.  Upon completing his private certificate, Mike promises to be a strong competitor.

Don Bartlett is an experienced aviator with his Instrument rated Commercial pilot certificate (SEL, MEL.)  He owns an award-winning Piper Tri-Pacer affectionately named “Rosie,” and a beautiful 1962 Beechcraft Baron.  Additionally, Don will complete his A & P certificates by fall at SIU-C.

Josh Cisneros grew up in Rockton, IL, and is a Private pilot (SEL.)  He is currently training for his Commercial certificate at SIU-C.  Josh has already earned his A & P certificate, and has flown numerous different types of aircraft.  His pursuit in becoming a total aviator has just begun.
